THE SANDIGAN ISLAND SCHOLAR PROJECT

Name and Contribution

The  SANDIGAN ISLAND SCHOLAR PROJECT (SISP) is a Non – Government Organization (NGO) without commercial interest, founded in 2003 by a group of German Citizens.

The SISP aims to support young individuals who deserve an upgrading secondary education but are prevented or restricted from it by financial circumstances. Therefor SISP will prepare a Scholarship Grant that covers 4 years any High School in the Province of Bohol. The tuition will be fully covered and other School Fees are granted up to 50% of the proved costs. In addition, an allowance for transportation will be furnished.

Objects and Conditions.

1. SISP awards each year two students who graduated from one of Sandingan Islands Elementary School.

2. The privileged student (respective of his/her parents) must maintain his/her residence at the Island of Sandingan, Municipality of Loon, Province of Bohol. In case the scholar and/or the Scholars family move to a place out of Sandingan Island  SISP will conclude it`s support with the end of the school year.

3. The privileged student must rank among the top five of his/her graduating elementary class. The final Rating Report has to show an average above 85%. Rank and Rate must be certified by the School Principal.

4. The annual income of the deserving student should not be more than forty thousand Pesos (40.000 PhP).  The Scholarship support is exclusive for students who are not benefitting from contributions by third party, like other organizations or relatives living abroad for example. A statement is required and must be certified by a Barangay Captain.

5. To enjoy the full grants, the Scholar has to obtain an average of  85%  of his/her rating at the end of the school year. A copy of the Progress Report Card (PRC) shall be submitted to the SISP Representative. If the scholar fails to present the PRC, or to maintain the requested Grade,  his/her Scholarship Grant will be suspended.

The SISP Representative and his Obligations.

The SANDIGAN ISLAND SCHOLAR PROJECT Representative is Mr. Bernd Hartmann, Mocpoc Norte, Loon, Bohol.

He will implement the proceeding of the regulations.

He will determine, formulate and enforce the guidelines, govern the scholarship including the selection process.

He is not personally liable for the solvency of the SISP Scholars or the the NGO itself.

He will file at the end of every School Year an annual report, listing the expenditures of the year with a forecast on the upcoming year.

ANNEX

THE SANDIGAN ISLAND SCHOLAR COLLEGE PROJECT (SISP-C)

Recognizing demands, and realizing that graduation from High School opens the gate to the final step towards educational process, SISP will extend its assistance to privileged students.

SISP will award secondary education students with subsidy of ten thousand (10.000 PHP) p.a. via its SISP-C.

SISP-C is limited of a maximum of 8 students.

It will support the privileged student for a maximum of 4 years.

In addition to the general regulation specified under the previous SISP rules, a SISP-C Scholar shall,

1. Graduate from High School in the ranking of the top 6 with a average rate of 85% or more.

2. Enroll at any registered College within the province of Bohol or Cebu.

3. Maintain his/her residence at Sandigan Island.

At begin of every semester a true copy of his/her College Registration has to be submitted to the SISP Representative.
